2027: Group Launches ‘BOB, Kwara NPE O’ Campaign for Bolarinwa
The Progressives group in Irepodun local government has launched ‘BOB, Kwara NPE O’ campaign to mobilise support for governorship bid of former Kwara APC Chairman, Hon. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa, PhD, ahead of 2027 general elections.
THE IREPODUN LOCAL GOVERNMENT PROGRESSIVES launched the support group in Oro on Monday amidst funfair.
The Convener of the Group, Tunde Salau while addressing newsmen said the call for Bolarinwa to contest Kwara governorship seat is patriotic, noting that it represents the collective aspiration of progressive-minded citizens across Kwara State.
His words: This gathering is to publicly urge our leader, the indefatigable Chairman and Captain of the Otoge Movement, Hon. Dr. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa, to come forward, and contest the 2027 Governorship Election in Kwara State under the banner of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“This appeal goes beyond Irepodun Local Government. It represents the collective aspiration of progressive-minded citizens across Kwara State who are sincerely committed to the advancement, unity, and sustained development of our dear State of Harmony.”
According to him, at this critical stage in our political evolution, the need for purposeful and inclusive leadership has become paramount. We cannot afford decisions that do not reflect the collective interest of all Kwarans. Democracy remains the government of the people, by the people, and for the people. As committed progressives, we must uphold the enduring principles of justice, equity, and unity — with competence as our guiding compass.
They described Bolarinwa as a seasoned political leader with an admirable record of service across both the legislative and executive arms of government.
“His political journey began at the grassroots level as a Councillor. Through dedication and outstanding performance, he was elected Local Government Chairman and later served as a distinguished Member of the House of Representatives. His rise through the ranks reflects both capacity and credibility.” Salau explained
“During the historic struggle to liberate Kwara State from decades of entrenched political dominance, he was entrusted with leading the Otoge* Movement. This responsibility was not accidental but earned — built on his reputation as a unifier, a man of integrity, and a leader of unquestionable character. He rose to the occasion and provided steady, courageous leadership that has since become a defining chapter in our state’s political history.”
The Progressives of Irepodun Local Government implored the former Federal Lawmaker to join the 2027 Kwara Governorship race in the overriding public interest.
