Abandoned Lagoon Kills 13 Years-old School Girl in Kwara
Abandoned lagoon in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital on Sunday claimed life of 13 year-old child.
The adolescent of school age fell into the lagoon and died after few hours of rescue efforts by residents at Tanimola community in Tipper garage area, Tanke, Ilorin South Local Government.
The Association of Kwara Online Media Practitioners team with reporters from 9japarrot who visited the community on Tuesday reports that the Lagoon emanated from the uncompleted gutter guide from the Nigeria Police Force F Division Quarters
Some residents in a chat with our reporters said Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq administration fails to take proactive step after bringing the state of the lagoon to their knowledge.
We noted have written several letters to the current government seeking urgent intervention regarding the likely danger of abandoning the lagoon yield no positive result.
In addition the Youth of the Community berated the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye for being indifferent after informing about the worsening situation of the lagoon.
The community therefore called for quick intervention to save the lives and properties of the people of Tanimola community in Tanke.
