APC Suspends Fayemi Over Anti-Party Activities
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi.
Senator Adeniyi-led faction suspended Governor Fayemi from the APC, alleging that no Ward Congress has taken place in the state since inception of the party, and that the governor’s faction was illegal.
Adeniyi, who represented Ekiti South senatorial district between 2011 and 2015, said he was made Acting Chairman of the Ekiti APC owing to the “absence of direction or directive from the National Body” and was adjudged as “the only one thus capable to call the SEC(State Executive Council) meeting as duly required by the constitution from henceforth.”
According to the suspension notice made available to newsmen, the SEC meeting which suspended Fayemi, was held on Tuesday, September 23, 2020, in accordance with Section 12.8 of APC Constitution.
