Blessing Ojo Wins Ueno Outstanding International Student in Australia

Ulverstone mother Blessing Ojo has been honored with this year’s prestigious Ueno Award, recognized as one of Tasmania’s most outstanding international students for her academic excellence and dedication to her community.

The Ueno Award celebrates the achievements of exceptional international students, acknowledging their significant contributions not only to their academic institutions but also to the wider community.

Blessing’s recognition reflects her strong commitment to both her studies and her role in supporting others.

Blessing, who has managed to balance her demanding studies, credits her success to dedication and discipline.

According to her, It’s all about commitment showing up for classes every week, staying engaged in online classes, and making sure all assignments are submitted on time.

Beyond her studies, the mother of two sons actively volunteers to support Overton Soccer Club and the Lounge, a group that supports women with mental health issues. Through these initiatives, she aims to provides a supportive presence, engaging with women by sharing conversations, playing games, and creating a positive, uplifting environment.

Her achievement of the Ueno Award highlighted not only her academic success but also her passion for making a meaningful difference in the lives of others, both in her studies and through her community involvement.

Blessing Ojo had Higher National Diploma in Mass Communication from Osun State Polytechnic, Iree. She worked as educationist before relocating to Australia with her family.
