Bolarinwa Meets Kwara APC Elders, Preaches Unity

The Caretaker Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Hon Bashir Bolarinwa has expressed confidence that the state chapter will be back on right track.

 

The Caretaker Committee Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara, Hon. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa, has expressed confidence following the crisis that have beguiled the party in the state.

Bolarinwa disclosed this while engaging some selected party elders on Tuesday at the Kwara South APC Elder Consultative Meeting held in Ajase-Ipo.

Kwara APC Chairman in the engagement session attended by party elders drawn from across the 7 local government areas of the Senatorial district said:  “I’m here to bring you good tidings that Our party will soon be returned back on the right track. It’s my responsibility to ensure that the party maintained its stability despite divisive tendencies exhibited by some handy few in the minorities. So, let’s not be distracted by their antics to confuse our teeming party members.

Adding that: “Going down the memory lane, You should recall how we started, where we are and where we’re supposed to be. it’s on this note that I charge you all to remain focused while ensuring there’s no room for any division that may cause rancour among ourselves.”

Bolarinwa described the meeting as ‘a call to unity’ for party members in the district to come together in order to form a united front where the interest of Kwara Southerners within the party will be protected.

He noted that the engagement session, which is an ongoing exercise will be periodic and extended to other two senatorial districts in due course.

The Chairman appreciated the party leaders across board for their support towards the party activities and programmes.

In his address, APC Chieftain, Chief Iyiola Akogun Oyedepo expressed dissatisfaction over the poor outings of the elected State and National Lawmakers while restating the resolve of the party towards 2023 elections in the state. He said it’s high time the party allows capable, trustworthy and ‘all-rounder’ candidates to emerge through a free and fair contest ahead of future elections.

For their part, Dr. Ezekiah Oyedepo expressed satisfaction over the call for a united front among Party Elders of the district and therefore move a motion for the reconstitution of Kwara South APC Elders Consultative Forum.

The Elders unanimously elected Chief J.A Fodeke as the Chairman of the Forum, while Mr. Sunday Oladiji from Isin emerged as Secretary.

The Forum thereby passed a vote of confidence on the State Caretaker Committee under the chairmanship of Hon. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa.

The meeting was well attended by the seven local government ares party chairmen, party Elders, stalwarts, which includes – Alhaji I.O Yusuf, Hon. Mariam Adeniran, Dr. Ezekiah Oyedepo, Hon. Ishola Olateju, Teju Adeyemi, Dr. Ayanda, Alhaji Adebayo Adisa, Chief Iyiola Akogun Oyedepo and Mrs. Toyin Jimoh
