A Community-based organization, Edun Progressive Minded Forum (EPMF) has presented an award to the Dan-Iyan of Ilorin Emirate, Engr. Sulaiman Bolakale Kawu Agaka; the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, Dr. Shuaib Belgore, and Prof. Mubashir B. Uthman of University of Ilorin.
EPMF honoured the awardees during the 4th Empowerment/Award ceremony held at Open Space, Ile Fefe, Ilorin on Monday, January 1, 2024.
According to the organizers, the prominent Ilorin sons were recognized for their contributions towards the development of the community, Kwara state and the country at large.
Other awardees include Mr Sa’ad Mohammed Oladimeji of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Mr Ismail Mohammed, Alhaji Ibrahim Adebayo, Alhaji Jimoh Buhari Edun, Dr. Saheed Bolakale Ajadi, Comr Saidu Oladimeji Mahmud and Alhaji Oba Adesina.
The Awardees in their reaction described the recognition as a motivation to continue their very best in giving back to the society.
Engr Kale Aiyegun, in his lecture said not only the wealthy people can be helpful in the community development, noting that contributing to the community should always be people’s priority.
Aiyegun cautioned the youth not to over dependant on their relatives for jobs and other opportunities.
According to him, those that have turned there brothers to enemy because they asked them things beyond their capacity.
Another Guest Speaker, Prof. Zakariyah from Chemical Engineering Department, Federal University of Technology Minna urged the youth in the state to continue living in the peace and harmony they are known for.
Professor Zakariyah charged Nigerian youths to acquire education and digital skills to enhance their employability.
