DG NILDS Mourns Doyin Okupe’s Death
The Director General National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, Professor Abubakar Sulaiman has described the death of the former Presidential Spokesman, Doyin Okupe as shocking and disheartening.
Professor Sulaiman stated this in a condolence statement issued on Friday by his Media Adviser Mohammad Abdulkadri.
He said the death of Dr Okupe with whom he served the former President Jonathan when he was Minister of National Planning is a big loss to the Nation’s Media Industry.
The Director General said the late physician, politician and Media personality will be remembered as a vocal supporter of the present administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and for his contributions to good governance through debates in shaping national discourse in the domestic and international media space.
Professor Sulaiman expressed his condolences to the former President Goodluck Jonathan, Okupe’s immediate family, friends and his political allies as well as prayed to God to repose his soul and grant his loved ones the fortitude to bear the huge loss.
