Emergency Rule: Senator Bamidele Heads Senate Oversight Committee for Rivers

The Senate Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele has been appointed as Chairman Senate Oversight Committee to monitor Rivers State Affairs under Sole Administrator, Admiral Ibass (Retd).

The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio announced the committee on Tuesday during plenary.

Recall that President Bola Tinubu declared emergency rule in Rivers State on March 18 following unresolved political crisis. The declaration comes with suspension of Governor Sim Fubara, Deputy Governor and Rivers State House of Assembly.

The 20-member Senate Committee is expected to ensure the Sole Administrator works with scope of his mandate.
