Expatriates Abduction: CKNG Urges KWSG To Take Proactive Measures To Safeguard Lives, Properties
The Coalition of Kwara North Groups (CKNG) has condemned the abduction of four Turkish expatriates in Kwara North by gunmen on Sunday.
CKNG in a statement jointly signed by its Chairman, Comrade Musa Idris Buko and Publicity Secretary, Aliyu Bala Isa tasked Kwara State government to take proactive measures in safeguarding lives.
The statement read
CKNG receives with great shock the unfortunate incidences of kidnap of four Turkish citizens working in a Quarry in Gbale, Edu LGA during their leisure time. Recall also, that a similar incidence took place in Kaiama LGA of Kwara North, on the 20th of July, 2019, where a businessman was robbed near his residence and his daughter shot dead by a one man armed robber.
The above incidents portray great danger for not only the community but Kwara State at large, if not timely checked.
CKNG hence, call on the authorities to act quickly with the aim of returning the abductees safely, and preventing future reoccurrence of the ugly experience.
CKNG also urges members of the community to help and cooperate with security agencies in providing information of drug and substance abuses, which is the breeding ground of all criminalities, strange movements and faces, and any other intelligence that can facilitate a safer Kwara North.
CKNG shares the grief of the abductees, people of the community and Kwarans at large. CKNG implores the people of the State to be strong and security conscious, while urging the State government to take proactive measures in safeguarding lives and properties in the State of Harmony.
