Gombe Governor Announces Payment of Gratuity Backlog for LG Retirees
Gombe State Governor Inuwa Yahaya on Wednesday announced payment of additional tranche of gratuity to local government Retirees
Governor Inuwa disclosed this while hosting the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at both state and local government levels to a special Iftar at Government House, Gombe.
Speaking to this important segment of his extended political family, Governor Inuwa Yahaya expressed gratitude to the APC leadership across all levels in the state for their continued support to his administration since its inception.
He noted that the gesture is in continuation of his administration’s commitment to addressing the backlog of entitlements inherited from previous administrations.
His words: “Let me seize this opportunity, to appreciate you for standing by my administration all through. The victories we witnessed both in 2019 and 2023 elections respectively, would not have been possible without your absolute commitment and sacrifices. I am proud to say that we have delivered on the numerous promises we had made during the electioneering campaigns. Our achievements are glaring. The people of Gombe can testify to this. It is based on this that I want to reassure you that I’ll continue to lead us to achieving greater milestones in line with our party’s ideals”.
In another development, Governor Inuwa Yahaya revealed plans to award contracts for the construction of roads in the affordable Family Homes Estate and the New Shongo Gardens Layout to improve accessibility and open up the areas for economic activities in line with the state’s broader urban development plan.
Speaking on behalf of the party leadership, the State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Nitte K. Amangal, stated that the party is satisfied with the development Gombe is witnessing under Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s administration, commending him for his progressive and pragmatic leadership as well as his commitment to enhance the welfare of the people.
The party Chairman used the occasion to reaffirm their unflinching support and loyalty to his leadership as the party leader, saying they are ready to at anytime align their interests to that of the Governor on any decision taken for the good of the party, and benefit of the people of the state.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Chief of Staff, Government House, Alhaji Abubakar Inuwa Kari, said Governor Inuwa Yahaya was proud of the party, and continues to acknowledge and appreciate their support.
He urged the APC chieftains to remain loyal and united in pursuing the collective goal of the party at all times.
The Deputy Governor, Manassah Daniel Jatau, Ph.D, Deputy Speaker, Hon. Sadam Bello and some members of the State House of Assembly, the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, and other senior government officials, joined Governor Inuwa Yahaya in hosting the APC leadership for the iftar.
