Gombe Governor Seeks Tougher Sanction Against People Involved In Anti- Party Activities

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya on Saturday met with members of the All Progressives Congress, APC Campaign Council, party elders and state working committee during which he expressed profound gratitude to them for their sacrificial roles before, during and after the general elections.

Governor Inuwa said he convened the meeting to parley with the stakeholders and to appreciate them for forging a common front and working assiduously for the success of the APC at the polls.

Ge said, “Our Party logo signifies unity, and by what you have demonstrated in the build up to, during and even after the polls, you have proven us right considering your commitment and doggedness in ensuring a sweeping victory for us and our great party”.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya however, lamented the anti-party activities and abuse of trust by some bad eggs in the party, attributing the setback on the presidential and National Assembly elections to the multiplier effect of their sabotage and other negative antics.

He tasked the APC leadership to rise to the occasion by taking measures against such unscrupulous elements who worked against the party that gave them platform.

“Inspite of their sabotage and hypocrisy, we have delivered more than the required 25% in the Presidential election and got 20 out of 24 State House of Assembly members; above all we have delivered on the governorship because, as we always say, victory comes only from Allah not from those selfish and unpatriotic politicians”.

“We must swallow the bitter pill and tell ourselves the truth. In Gombe State some LGAs benefitted from both the federal and state governments’ developmental projects and programmes but sadly refused to deliver APC in their areas just because of some myopic sentiment”.

He however assured that “As elected leaders, we have the responsibility to serve our people to the best of our ability without any prejudice. I will do justice to all irrespective of religious, tribal or regional affiliation”.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya solicited the support and prayers of all, especially in this sacred month of Ramadan for the success of APC administration.

There were remarks by the Speaker, Gombe State House of Assembly, Hon. Abubakar Mohammed Luggerewo; APC Chairman; DG Campaign, Barrister Zubair Muhammad Umar, and Elder Statesman, Amb. Ibrahim Yarima Abdullahi.
