Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani-Bello has described the former General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division, Nigerian Army, Kaduna, Brigadier General Dantsoho Mohammed (rtd) as a gallant military officer who dedicated his career in defence of Nigeria.
The Governor said that the former military leader who died in the early hours of Thursday at the age of 70 years after a brief illness in Kaduna, would be remembered for the brilliant and gallantry role he played in all deployments at staff, training and command appointments.
Gov. Sani- Bello in a condolence message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Malam Jibrin Baba Ndace, noted that the military and in deed, the nation has lost one of its finest and refined officers.
He maintained that the late General was a dedicated and committed officer who contributed immensely towards ensuring peace and security of the country.
The governor noted that the death of the late GOC was a personal loss to him, adding that the advice and contributions of late Gen. Mohammed would be greatly missed by him.
“Brigadier General Dantsoho Mohammed’s death is a loss to me because he was one elder that never shy away to offer advise and speak the truth to the throne. His death was not just a lost for the family but the state and country at large,” the governor noted.
He then prayed Allah to grant him Aljahna fidausi and also grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
Until his death, he was the Chairman of Crystal Talc Fertiliser Company, Kagara, he left behind one wife two children and grandchildren.
Late General Danstoho (rtd) has been buried in Kaduna in accordance with the Islamic injunction.
