Group Threatens To Drag Abdulrazaq To Court Over Illegal TIC Constitution

The Kwara Agenda Group ,a non political, non governmental organisation is highly disturbed at the alarming rate of impunity and open disregard to rule of law and due process by and under the APC led Government in Kwara state .

The group in a Statement jointly signed by the state coordinator, Comrade Haroon Kannike, State secretary, Comrade Nurudeen Muhammad and the Director of Media , Sholyments Olusegun Olusola expressed grave concerns at the extreme normalisation of Illegalities and wrongdoings by Governor Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq noting that Kwara state under the APC watch is already drifting to a lawless state if something urgent is not done to curb the ugly menace

The group condemned in totality , the mushroom appointments of some APC members as Transition and Caretaker Committee to oversee Government at the council level including the illegal SUBEB recruitment exercise being sponsored by the state government.

“We at Kwara Agenda condemned in totality , the mushroom appointments by Mallam Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq , of some AAP members as TIC to oversee the 16 local government areas in the state . We equally call for immediate stoppage to the ongoing SUBEB Recruitments exercise being championed by the state government in the absence of duly constituted board of SUBEB which is the only body legally empowered to carry out such exercise. The recruitment exercise therefore breached the extant law and must be halted with immediate alacrity ”

“Apart from the fact that the Government action had become obsolete due to its quagmire to survival of grassroots democracy, any attempt to impose non-elected persons as local government council officials will further impoverished the political and
institutional structure of local government and thus open an avenue for Abdulrazaq and his appointed loyalists to perpetrate their frauds in full glare at the expense of our local governments”

The Kwara Agenda Group said all machineries have been put in place to approach court and challenge Government actions in order to safeguard the Government at the grassroot level from being usurp by those it considered as prime beneficiaries of Democracy and rule of law but who have now turned enemies of Democratic principles and practice

“It is on this basis that we would like to give Governor Abdulrazaq 72 hours to rescind his decisions on the above subject matters failure of which this organisation will perfect it’s filing at the court of law ”

“We wonder why a Governor who himself is a beneficiary of Democratic transitioning will be afraid to conduct council elections after he had used about two years in office which is enough to showcase his leadership to electorates.”
