Hijrah: Senator Mustapha Urges Muslims To Pray for National Development
Kwara Central Senator and Turaki of Ilorin, Senator Saliu Mustapha has called on the Muslim Ummah in Nigeria to offer special prayers for the progress and development of Kwara State and the nation as a whole as they mark the beginning of new Islamic calender year of 1446 AH.
Senator Mustapha in a statement issued by his Media Aide, Nasif Solagberu congratulated Muslims across the country on this significant occasion.
He also called for prayers for Nigeria to overcome its current economic challenges, saying that “ Hijrah is a special period in the Islamic calendar and I want to encourage Nigerians particularly Muslim ummah to utilize the period to offer special prayers to the Almighty for our leaders at all levels for God’s wisdom and guidance. We must also put aside our ethnic, religious and political differences and come together to build a more united and peaceful country,”
“As we embark on the new Hijrah Year, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all Muslims. This is a time for reflection, renewal and prayer. I urge the Muslim Ummah to use this period to pray fervently for our country’s development, peace and prosperity,” the lawmaker added.
He further urged Muslims to embrace the values of the Hijrah by fostering unity, understanding and goodwill among all citizens.
