A recent facility tour carried by team of journalists from the State Ministry of Tertiary Education shows that the Kwara State Government owned institution has capacity and manpower in teeth fabrication and render dental care services to the public.

The Provost during the facility visit said Kwara State College of Health Technology has facilities for Dental Fabrication and Repair, noting that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq recently procured modern equipment for the dental clinic and fabrication unit.According to Dr Aliyu AbdulRauf, we have modern facilities for Mass tooth fabrication including gold teeth popularly known as ‘EYIN MECCA’

The Honourable Commissioner Tertiary Education, Senior Ibrahim Sulyman (Esq) lauded the giant strides of the present Administration and expressed that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq procured modern waxing, sizing and polishing machines for the teeth fabrication unit while Dental clinic has new equipment including mouth mirror, suction device, scalar and dental x-ray machine.

The Commissioner reiterated that the provision of necessary equipment has now enhanced the school capacity to not only train students but also offer full scale dental care services to people of Offa and its environs. While people who fancy golden teeth or need fabricated teeth can patronize them.

Similarly, the newly constructed ophthalmology centre at Kwara State College of Health Technology Offa would also help students to access world class training in eye care services, glasses production and the diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders.

The Ophthalmology centre has modern facilities not limited for training but render services to the community. It’s exciting to know people of Offa and its environs are already enjoying their services at affordable rate.

Furthermore, the College Management with support of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is constructing Entrepreneurship Centre to provide vocational training for students in additional to their main course of study. Entrepreneurship education is fast becoming in-thing across Tertiary institutions as part of efforts to reduce unemployment and instil entrepreneurial spirit in students.

The Provost hinted that the Entrepreneurship Centre when completed will serve as hub for vocational trainings such as tailoring, soap making, perfume making and other craft works which can provide sustainable income for graduates apart from their main discipline.
