Humanitarian Affairs Minister Visits Ondo Governor, Acknowledges Jasper Adeleye’s Contributions

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr. Bernard Doro on Tuesday visited Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

Governor Aiyedatiwa received the Minister at the State Banquet Hall, Akure alongside his Senior Special Assistant (Special Duties), Jasper Adeleye and other entourage.

The Minister who joined Aiyedatiwa at the meeting with traditional rulers across Ondo State said stated that while Nigeria’s national poverty rate stands at 63 per cent, with 30 per cent classified as ultra‑poor, Ondo State maintains a comparatively lower rate of 27.7 per cent.

Doro added that his ministry has begun implementing policies to reduce poverty and support citizens in achieving resilience, independence, and self‑sufficiency.

He said the federal government would collaborate closely with the Ondo State government to reduce poverty further, stressing that engagement with state and local governments is central to federal poverty‑reduction programmes.

The Minister used the opportunity to acknowledge contributions of his Senior Special Assistant (Special Duties), Jasper Adeleye in fulfilling mandate of the ministry.

His words: “I am happy to be in your midst today. The Federal Government led by President Bola Tinubu will continue to engage stakeholders including traditional rulers in implementing the renewed hope mandate.

“It’s exciting to note that my Senior Special Assistant on Special Duties, Jasper Adeleye is from Ondo State (Idanre). He is one of the industrious sons of this state. We’re proud to have him in our team.”

Governor Aiyedatiwa in his remarks, thanked the Minister for Humanitarian and Poverty Reduction for assurances to help further reduce poverty in Ondo State. “We will appraise progress in two years to measure impact,” he said.
