…Says Govt Insincerity May Stir Up Fresh Protests

Afro Rockstar and Social Justice Crusader, Ayokanmi Oluwasegun Eyanro known as Frequencie has stated that the insincerity and insensitivity of government in handling post-#EndSARS protest dialogue might spark fresh protests, noting that blame game will not address the critical issues.

Frequencie in statement stated that the disturbance of peaceful protests by hoodlums and alleged hoarding of COVID-19 palliative items led to civil unrest last month in some parts of Nigeria.

According to him, the infuriation and disruption of peaceful protests by state backed hoodlums led to looting, killing and destruction of properties in some cities. The responsibility of government is to protect lives and properties of Nigerians and inability of government to separate peaceful protesters from hoodlums worsen the situation.

He said the freezing of #EndSARS protest promoters by Central Bank of Nigeria and lawsuit filed against Pastor Sam Adeyemi, Davido and other leading voices in the call against Police brutality in Nigeria are not necessary.

The Afro Rockstar however hinted that he will continue to use music to promote peace, demand for good governance and stand up for human rights.

Frequencie charged government to harness potentials of music industry to promote unity, peace and tranquility in the country. ”Music is powerful tool of communication. I hope government and develop partners will see the opportunity in music for promoting of peace, social order and unity.”

Frequencie therefore warned that no amount of intimidation, window dressing and harassment can stop Nigerians, especially youths from demanding for their rights and good governance.
