I Won’t Surrender, Fubara Hits Wike

Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara has vowed not to surrender or bow to political intimidation.

Fubara made this declaration on Friday while speaking at the quarterly general meeting of the Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers in Port Harcourt.

The Governor reaction is coming amidst fresh attempt to impeach him by pro-Wike lawmakers.

He emphasized the significance of Rivers State as a collective inheritance of the people.

His words:  “Let us not forget that Rivers State is our collective inheritance, presently under my watch, to protect, defend, and advance as the governor. I assure you that I will not fail in this responsibility, nor will I surrender our mandate and progress to intimidation, blackmail, and deliberate sabotage.”

Fubara’s statement follows political face-off with his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, who accused him of neglecting the political structure that facilitated his rise to power.

The disagreement escalated to the point of an impeachment move against Governor Fubara, only to be halted by the intervention of President Bola Tinubu.
