Igbajo 77 Progressive Club Visits Polytechnic, Pledges Support

The Igbajo 77 Progressive Club, a renowned socio-cultural organization dedicated to the development of the Igbajo community, has affirmed its commitment to supporting Igbajo Polytechnic.

During a courtesy visit to the institution, the club’s president, Dr. Babatunji Ojo, expressed his excitement at the remarkable progress the polytechnic has made, particularly in the Department of Mass Communication, which now boasts a state-of-the-art live radio studio.

Dr. Ojo, impressed by the facilities, commended the management for its efforts in making the institution a standout among higher education institutions in Nigeria. “I have toured several higher institutions, but Igbajo Polytechnic stands out and is truly leading in its class,” he stated.

He highlighted the significant role of community contributions to the institution’s growth, noting that many of its infrastructures were made possible through donations from individuals, organizations, and foundations.

Dr. Ojo advised the management to reinforce this culture by making the institution’s needs more visible to potential benefactors.

“Today’s visit has given us better insight into the institution’s needs, and as an organization, we are inspired to explore ways to further support its growth,” he added.

Dr. Ojo also took the opportunity to appreciate the Owa of Igbajo, His Royal Majesty Oba Ademola Makinde Onigemo I, for his pivotal role in advancing the institution, particularly through the donation of a transmitter to the Department of Mass Communication. He described the monarch as a progressive Monarch whose contributions continue to uplift the community.

The Registrar of Igbajo Polytechnic, Mr. Onipede Olayiwola, who also serves as the Secretary of the Igbajo 77 Progressive Club, expressed his joy at the visit. He described it as a testament to the club’s unwavering support for the polytechnic and its vision of excellence.

Accompanying Dr. Ojo were other notable members of the club, including former president Mr. Rotimi Folarin, Treasurer Mr. Niyi Akinbogun, and Chief Whip Prince Adedeji Oluwole.

The team’s presence underscored the club’s dedication to fostering partnerships that benefit the polytechnic and the broader community.
