Ilorin South Engages 50 Casual Workers, 90 Security Guards

Ilorin South local government has engaged 50 Casual Workers and 90 security guards to improve efficiency as well as enhance security across wards in the council.

The Council Chairman, Hon Majeed Podo disclosed this while featuring on a radio program in Ilorin recently.

Podo said the Casual Workers were engaged to support full time staff in boosting productivity and efficiency.

According to him, we decided to employ Casual Workers to create job opportunity for our people. 30 are working at the local government Headquarters in Fufu while remaining 20 were posted to Pake. Majority of them are working near their residence to save transportation expenses.

Speaking on security issues, he said additional 90 guards were employed at oversee our facilities across 11 wards.

His words: “As a former Military Officer, I know the importance of security. After our swearing-in September 2024, we discovered that we have 20 security guards which is not adequate. We therefore engaged more people to enhance security in our local government. This is to complement efforts of His Excellency, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.”

Podo noted that he has handed over Hilux Van to Security Operatives to ensure steady patrol and crime prevention in Ilorin South local government.
