Independence: Contribute To Community Development, Amofin Akogun Urges Nigerians 

As Nigeria celebrates its 64th year of independence, it’s essential to understand the significance of democracy in achieving true freedom. According to Amofin Titilope

Amofin Akogun, President,BTA Foundation, “We cannot celebrate Independence without allowing Democracy to flourish”. This encapsulates the essence of what it means to be truly independent in today’s world. Democracy is not just a system of government; it’s a way of life that ensures the voice of every citizen is heard. Its pillars – free speech, fair elections, and accountable governance – that will provide the framework for true independence to thrive.

However, By participating in the democratic process, Nigerians can shape their future and hold their leaders accountable.

Akogun emphasizes, Nigeria’s success requires “all hands on deck.” It’s crucial to look beyond political affiliations and socio-economic boundaries to contribute to the nation’s prosperity. By doing so, we honor the sacrifices of our forebears and pave the way for a more prosperous Nigeria.

Moreover, Building interests beyond politics is vital for national development. This holistic approach proves that true progress encompasses various sectors and requires diverse skills and contributions.
