Independence Day: Sheriff Shagaya Urges Wealthy Nigerians To Provide Sustainable Livelihood For People
As Nigeria marks 59th year of Independence, the Chairman of Salman Shagaya Foundation, Alhaji Sheriff Shagaya, has joined other well meaning Nigerians in felicitating with the good people of the country on the 59th anniversary of the country’s existence as a sovereign nation.
In a statement released on Saturday at Ilorin, the capital city of Kwara state by the Press Secretary of the foundation, Ibraheem Abdullateef, the philanthropist expresses optimism about the future of the country in spite of the current surmountable challenges.
While appreciating government at all levels for making efforts aimed at alleviating the suffering of the masses, he also called on the citizenry to continue to support the government with patience, perseverance and prayer as he assured them of his belief that there shall be light at the end of the tunnel.
Alhaji Sherif Shagaya added that, “in spite of the current economic challenges which is beginning to witness a positive turn around, Nigeria and Nigerians have every reason to celebrate the unity, survival and security progress made so far.
In the midst of all national challenges, Alhaji Shagaya urged wealthy Nigerians, especially Kwarans to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice as demonstrated by the founding fathers of the country by working to improve the sustainable livelihood of the masses.
He however, noted that; ” poverty knows no colour, race, religion and political party. Hence, the rationale behind the continuous efforts of the Salman Shagaya Foundation at impacting lives by providing opportunities of sustainable livelihood for people and communities without any religious or political affiliations through its various live touching projects, programmes and activities such as SMEs funding, school aid, visitation and provision of relief materials to hospitals and orphanages as well its signatory quarterly monetary empowerment scheme.
“More than ever before, we all need to come together and work in unity in order to contribute to the sustainability of our people, the advancement of our dear state and the unity of Nigeria,” Alhaji Sherif Shagaya said.
He concluded by praying to God to continue His divine mercy on the country and her people while wishing all Kwarans and Nigerians a peaceful, rewarding and fruitful national day celebration.
