IYD 2020: Media Expert Advises Nigerian Youths To Embrace Agribusiness

The National Registrar; Nigerian Guild of Investigative Journalists (NGIJ) and FactualTimes Managing Editor, Oyewale Oyelola has urged Nigerian youths to synergize in order to take over leadership position in the country.

Oyewale Oyelola made this call when he featured on Nigerian Television Authority, NTA Abuja special discussion programme to commemorate 2020 international youth day.

Oyelola affirmed that Nigerian youths are ever ready to participate in nation building and politics, but says the government and political gladiators in Nigeria are not for giving them adequate support.

“My thought concerning Nigeria politics is that, Nigerian youths are ready to participate in politics that will enhance development of the country but, do our government supoort that? Never. The only youths you can find in politics in Nigeria are those that are born by those politicans that have have previously, held one office or the other in the country.” FactualTimes Editor explained.

The Public Affairs Analyst however advised Nigerian youths to make use of available opportunities in their disposals which will helpful the masses recognize them as agents of progressive change in the country.

“The only way the youths can be part of Nigeria politics is that, they should make useful of the available opportunities in their various learning institutes and working places. I equally charged them to imbibe good moral behaviors at all time. The veteran journalist asserted.

Oyelola stressed further by admonishing Nigerian youths to endeavor in empowering themselves.
“Nigerian youths should be well verse in empowerment. What i mean by empowerment here is that, they should do the needful so that, they will become great persons.”

On youth involvement in Politics, Oyelola appealed to the youths to support their contemporaries who desire to contest for political positions.

He also encouraged youths to engage in agriculture, which not necessarily about cultivation of farmland but by using their experiences in Information and Communication Technology to value in the value chain. ” You can promote agro-based sector by purchasing farm produces and re-sell to the vast populations.”
