Kwara 2027: More Aspirants From Kwara South Join Race

As we approach 2027 general elections, Aspirants from Kwara South Senatorial District are indicating interest to take over from Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.

FactualTimes gathered that list of All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship Aspirants from Southern region is growing daily as their supporters begin mobilization/awareness for Kwara 2027.

According to reliable sources, the Attorney General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, Deputy Senate Leader, Senator Oyelola Ashiru, former APC Chairman, Hon Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa and Chairman Governing Board of Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila-Orangun, Prof Wale Sulaiman will be contesting for governorship seat.

Last week, a group known as City Boys Built Nigeria (CBN) endorsed the Deputy Senate Leader and Senator representing Kwara South, Architect Oyelola Ashiru for governorship. The Group described Senator Ashiru as the best man for the job.

Political Analysts opine that the Attorney General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi from Oyun local government is under pressure to contest. His supporters believe the Minister is enjoying the goodwill of Presidency.

Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa, former Chairman of Mainland local government in Lagos and House of Representatives Member who led APC to victory in 2019 is also eyeing the number one in the state. Recall that he once aspired to Kwara State Governor.  He hails from  Agbeku in Ifelodun local government.

While Prof Wale Sulaiman and the Social Democratic Party Senatorial Candidate for Kwara South in 2023 has commenced under mobilization to actualise his governorship ambition.

Sulaiman, a world-class neurosurgeon from Ajase-Ipo in Irepodun local government would be selling his rich credentials and community impacts to market his ambition.

Political watchers feel the influx of Aspirants from Kwara South will change dynamic of the governorship contest amidst zoning from Kwara North Senatorial district.
