Kwara Commissioner, Dr Abdulmaliq-Bashir Empowers Over 100 With Cash, Food Items in Asa LG
The Kwara State Commissioner for Water Resources, Dr Abdulmaliq-Bashir Mopelola Risikatullahi on Saturday empowered over 100 people with cash and Food Items in Asa local government.
Dr Abdulmaliq-Bashir Mopelola Risikatullahi while addressing hundreds of APC members and residents at LGEA School Laduba said the Empowerment Program aims at complementing Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s efforts in improving wellbeing of the vulnerable persons and give back to her immediate community.
The Commissioner said the empowerment will also ameliorate the challenges people are facing in Kwara and beyond, especially the scarcity associated with CBN currency swap policy.
Her words: “I have brought this token as a gift to appreciate your support to me as your daughter and the administration of His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. We understand that times are hard and the situation is tensed. It is understandable but the solution is for us to remain calm as we forge ahead to elect a new crop of leaders in few weeks.
“We know our Presidential Candidate, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We also know that our Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq that is seeking reelection is popular. So also are our candidates for the House of Representatives, Senate, and the State House of Assembly. Their popularity must make winning easier for them”.
Dr Abdulmaliq-Bashir stated that Governor Abdulrazaq has done across board including provision of social amenities and appointment of Asa local government indigenes to key positions in the OTOGE administration, noting that more development will come to the council when the Governor is reelected.
She used the opportunity to appreciate Governor Abdulrazaq for her privilege to serve in two ministries within a year.
The beneficiaries of cash support were given N5000 each while the Canvassers across 12 polling units in Laduba ward get food item(Rice). The beneficiaries comprise aged, women, youth and men cutting across tribes and religion.
The Special Assistant to Kwara Governor on Women Empowerment, Asa local government TIC Chairman, APC Chairman, House of Assembly candidate for Afon Constituency, Hon Oniboki, the Convener Kwara Must Change, Hamzat Abdulrazaq, CKAY Chairman, Babafila, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Water Resources and others attended the event.
