Kwara LG Polls: KWASIEC Shifts Nomination Forms Submission Again

Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission (KWASIEC) has shifted collection of Nomination forms for Chairmanship and Councilorship Elections for forthcoming local government polls to Monday July 8, 2024.

KWASIEC in a statement issued on Wednesday by its Chairman, Muhammed Baba Okanla, attributed the extension to appeals by different political parties.

The statement read: “Consequent upon the appeals by different political parties which necessitated the extension of parties political primaries, the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission hereby notify the general public that the obtaining and returning of Nomination forms KWSIEC 01 and KWSIEC 02 for Chairmanship and Councilorship Elections is now Monday July 8th —- Friday July 12th, 2024.

“It was initially slated for July 1st —July 5th, 2024. Further adjustments to other activities, if any, will be communicated to the public as may become necessary.”

Meanwhile, Our Correspondent reports that the All Progressives Congress is yet to release official results for primary election held on Tuesday (July 2) as the time of filing this report.
