Kwara NUJ Election Holds July 31

Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has fixed Wednesday, July 31, 2024 for election of Kwara State Council.

The Assistant National Secretary, Akorede Opeyemi disclosed this via a memo addressed to Chairman/Secretary of Credentials Committee on Friday.

FactualTimes reports that the Union cleared Abdullateef Olarewaju Ahmed and Abdullahi Dare Akogun for Chairmanship position.

According to the memo, Fadeyi Babajide Adepoju  vying for Vice Chairman was disqualified for failure to meet constitutional requirements while Abubakar Danjuma Umar was not cleared for not having Congress attendance records.

With the final clearance, Binta Abubakar Mora and Bushrah Yusuf-Badmus have emerged unopposed for position of Vice Chairman and Treasurer unopposed.

Our Correspondent reports that the final list of eligible voters will be released on Monday.
