Kwara PDP Clears Air on Kale Kawu’s Donation

The Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) categorically debunk the publication by an online medium, which falsely attributes an appreciation message to an unrecognized forum, “PDP Grassroots Movement.”

This forum is non-existent, and the claims therein, particularly suggesting that one Engineer Kale Kawu provided financial donations for the recently concluded local government elections, are entirely baseless.

In statement by the state Publicity Secretary, Olusola Adewara the party advises Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and his people to settle their scores with Kale Kawu without dragging the PDP into their inferiority complex games.

“It is important to note that we maintain detailed records of all our stakeholders who provided financial or logistical support to our candidates, many of whom proudly declared their contributions on social media. It is important to clarify that there is no record of Engineer Kale Kawu offering any such support to the PDP or its candidates, whether for chairmanship or councilorship positions, during the elections.”

Additionally, the PDP is also aware of a recently created WhatsApp group by certain fifth columnists, claiming to mobilize for Kale Kawu within the party. This group has been adding PDP members and promising them the sum of forty thousand naira (N40,000) in exchange for posting false testimonies on social media, linking Kale Kawu to the PDP and suggesting that he financially supported our local government election struggles

We strongly distance ourselves from these impostors and urge all PDP members and supporters to avoid any dealings with such deceitful individuals. We will not allow our party to be manipulated into advancing the selfish agendas of external actors.

As a party , we hold Engineer Kale Kawu, just like other progress-loving Kwarans in high esteem and as a traditional title holder in the Ilorin Emirate, a consummate public servant and a philanthropist with a track record of positively impacting the lives of many Kwara indigenes.

We therefore call on all members of the public, as well as our loyal party supporters, to disregard the false narratives being circulated. While the PDP maintains an open-door policy and would gladly welcome Engineer Kale Kawu if he chooses to join our party, the reality is that at this moment,he is not currently a member, and there is no affiliation between him and our party at any level in Kwara State.
