Kwara PDP Elects New Exco As Saraki, Mashood Mustapha Attend Congress
The Kwara State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party on Saturday elected new executive.
Hon Issa Bawa from Kaiama local government emerged as Kwara PDP Chairman during the State Congress held at Arch Santa Arena, Ilorin.
The State Congress was attended by former Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, PDP National Legal Adviser, Barr Kamaldeen Ajibade, Alhaji Kawu Baraje and Party delegates from 16 local government areas.
Saraki in address declared that the PDP is fully prepared to reclaim Kwara State in the 2027 elections, assuring that the party will restore peace and security to the state.
He lamented the worsening insecurity under the current administration, noting that in the past 12 months alone, about 70 people have been killed, 50 injured, 42 kidnapped, and residents of no fewer than 27 communities have been displaced across Kwara North and South.
“Our state is being overrun by bandits, kidnappers, and killers who have waged needless attacks on our people. This is unprecedented in the history of Kwara. Under past administrations, including mine, Kwara never experienced such terrible insecurity,” Saraki stated.
A former APC governorship Aspirant, Hon Mashood Mustapha made a shocking appearance during at the Congress which indicates his return to PDP.
Recall that Mustapha left Saraki political structure in 2018 to team up with progressives to install new political order via OTOGE revolution.
