KWASU Satellite Campuses: Abolore Tasks Contractor on Timely Delivery of Projects
The Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr. Alabi Afees Abolore has called on the Contractor and Consultants handling Osi and Ilesha-Baruba Satellite Campuses of the Kwara State University (KWASU) to work in synergy in order to achieve the desired goal of the State Government.
Dr. Abolore, who expressed his displeasure at a meeting held with the Chief Executive of Unicontinental Construction Company and the Lead Consultant for the project in his office,
enjoined them to harmonize their work so that the projects could be completed on schedule.
He charged both the contractor and the consultants to work harmoniously as a team, in order to deliver the projects based on the scheduled time of completion and without compromising standard.
Responding, the Lead Consultant for the Project, Arc. Jimoh Faworaja Commended the Commissioner for his observation and for inviting them for an interface with a view to facilitating the smooth delivery of the projects.
The Chief Executive of Unicontinental Construction Company, Mr. Jack Lyu congratulated the Commissioner on his appointment and pledged his company’s unflinching support to the present administration in the State.
Mr. Lyu explained that the major plight affecting the pace of work on both sites would be looked into and he pleaded with the Commissioner to use his good offices to continue to manage all the relevant stakeholders on the projects for effective and timely project delivery.
Lyu also assured the Commissioner of his readiness to work in synergy with the consultants in order to achieve maximum results on the projects.
In her remarks, the Acting Director, Personnel Finance and Supply of the Ministry, Mrs. Florence Balogun urged the contractor and the consultants to step up the pace of work on the projects and ensure that quality materials are used.
