Kwara State House of Assembly on Tuesday passed bill to amend Kwara State Local Government Electoral law.
After the Consideration of the report of the Joint Committee on Eithics, Privileges & Judiciary and Committee on Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs at the Committee of Whole.
The Clerk to the House was directed to read the Bill the Third Time, and thereafter passed through Third Reading and Final Passage.
The House thereafter directed the Clerk to produce a clean copy of the Bill for the Governor’s assent.
The House Presided over by Speaker, Hon Yakubu Danladi directed Clerk of the House, Alhaji Abdul-kareem Olayiwola Ahmed to forward clean copy of the bill for Governor’s approval.
The amended Kwara State local government electoral law stipulates 360 days notice for conduct of local government elections.
The passage of the bill is a pointer that council polls will be conducted by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
