The Hausa Community for Peace, Stability and Development in Kwara State has petitioned Commissioner of Police over harassment and incessant arrest of Hausa Traders and Labourers in Mandate Market, Ilorin.

The group in a petition dated March 27, 2023 and addressed to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Commandant Nigeria Security Civil Defence Corps and Kwara Police Commissioner narrates ugly experience of Hausa Traders and Labourers in the market.

The group accused Babaloja and Iyaloja of Mandate Market located in Ilorin West local government area of using Police to harass as well as intimidate Hausa Traders carrying out lawful businesses in the market.

They noted that the renew attack on Saturday March 25 by combined team of Police and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps led to the killing of Abubakar Mohammed while two others sustained bullet wounds.
