The association also commended the Governor for appointing into his cabinet some of its members: The Senior Special Assistant on Civic Engagement, Youth Mobilization and Students matters, Kehinde Ayantunji and Media Assistant to the governor, Olutumbi Olufunke.

The letter read in part: “Your approaches and strategies in governance of Osun State in the last three years shows a clear youth inclusiveness which authenticate your firm believe in the vast human capital resources of the Nigerian youth as critical players in good governance and major contributors to the economy growth.

“It shows your strong believe that the youths make up over 50 percent of Nigeria’s population. Largely untapped, they have been far relegated into the background as fringe players in the polity for too long.”

Responding, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Gboyega Oyetola, Ismail Omipidan assured the association of his readiness to offer necessary support and table their requests before his principal at the right time.

Omipidan also advised them to work with MAOS members in Governor Oyetola’s cabinet to address challenges facing their Alma mata and improve welfare of members.

Femi Salawu was accompanied by his wife who is also a member of the association, Kehinde Salawu, MAOS National Secretary, Olusanya Ogunjobi and Osun State Chapter coordinator, Yemi Sanusi.
