The Nigerian Association of University Students (NAUS) has lauded Pharm. Judith Ugozi Udeh for her outstanding contributions to youth development, mentorship, healthcare delivery, and professional excellence, presenting her with an award during her birthday celebration.

The honour, which drew loud applause from guests, was bestowed in recognition of Udeh’s consistent support for students, commitment to pharmaceutical excellence, and dedication to inspiring young Nigerians, making the occasion both a personal milestone and a moment of public commendation.

The event, held at Carabana Lounge, Ajao Estate, Lagos, attracted top management and staff of Geneith Pharmaceuticals, members of the Lagos State University (LASU) MBA alumni, representatives of NAUS, as well as family members, friends, and well-wishers, many of whom spoke glowingly about the celebrant’s character, compassion, and professional impact.

Presenting the award on behalf of Nigerian university students nationwide, Comrade Josiah Peter Oche, National President of NAUS, described the occasion as “a moment of pride and celebration” for the association, noting that Pharm. Udeh embodies the values of service, integrity, and excellence upheld by NAUS.

According to him, NAUS—representing over twenty million Nigerian university students across federal, state, private, and diaspora institutions—commended Udeh for her outstanding contributions to healthcare delivery, pharmaceutical excellence, and human capacity development.

Represented at the event by Comrade Israel Oguntade, the NAUS Senate President, the association emphasised that the award was not merely symbolic but a call to higher service, challenging recipients to deepen their societal impact and remain role models for younger generations, particularly students who look up to professionals for inspiration and guidance.

“Pharm. Judith’s journey reflects dedication, integrity, and service—values that align perfectly with the ideals of NAUS,” the citation stated, adding that her commitment to advancing health and wellness continues to make a meaningful difference in communities.

NAUS also specially commended Geneith Pharmaceuticals for its unwavering commitment to quality, innovation, and ethical pharmaceutical practice, noting that organisations of its calibre play a critical role in strengthening Nigeria’s healthcare system while providing platforms for professionals to thrive in service to humanity.

Earlier in the programme, goodwill messages and testimonials were delivered by colleagues, former associates, alumni, and family members, many of whom highlighted Udeh’s passion for youth advocacy, mentorship, health education, and public awareness.

A former student leader at Lagos State University, Mr. Pascal Olisakwe, who worked closely with Udeh during her postgraduate studies, described her as focused, determined, and results-driven, noting that her leadership and sense of responsibility set her apart among her peers.

Reacting to the honour, a visibly moved Udeh expressed gratitude to God and appreciation to NAUS for the surprise recognition, describing the award as deeply meaningful, especially as it coincided with her birthday.

“I came here today simply to celebrate life, but receiving this award from students on my birthday is something I will cherish forever,” she said. “It strengthens my resolve to continue supporting young people through mentorship, advocacy, and health education.”

She reaffirmed her commitment to youth empowerment, mentorship, and public health education, noting that investing in young people remains a powerful tool for sustainable national development.

The event climaxed with the award presentation, birthday cake cutting, photographs, and a celebratory dance session, bringing the evening to a colourful and memorable close.
