No Protest At Federal Teaching Hospital Lokoja- Management
The Management of Federal Teaching Hospital Lokoja dismissed report on purported protest by doctors, nurses and other health workers of the institution.
A statement issued on. Sunday by the Hospital Public Relation Officer, Mr A. Abdullahi in Lokoja, described a solemn procession by colleagues of late Salamatu Aliu as traditional last rite for the deceased .
The statement noted that the Hospital community was shocked by publications of a section of the media which misconstrued the solemn procession and tagged it as a protest.
It emphasised that the Management expects media professionals to always embark on proper scrutiny and balanced reportage as opposed to sensationalization and falsehood particularly in briefing moment of the Hospital community and the family of the deceased.
The statement added that the management will take necessary legal steps to address the false publication aimed at inciting the public against the institution and emphasised that the Hospital will remain committed to sustaining its goal to deliver effective and efficient health care services to the society.
