Oba Oyelakin Installed As 16th Aree of Iree
The Aree of Iree in Boripe North LCDA of Osun State, Oba Muritala Omotayo Oyelakin Oyekun III has assured Indigenes and non-indigenes of the community that his reign will usher in steady progress and advancement.
Oba Oyelakin while addressing his subjects at the Iwuye ceremony which marks his official resumption of office as 16th Aree of Iree after completion of his traditional rite on Saturday.
The Iwuye which is the first of its kind since decades of existence of the ancient city of Iree attracted dignitaries from within and outside the shore of Nigeria.
“Iree is a big town, need to explore the tourism opportunities the community is abode with, the 7-hills in our ancestral home are enough to earn our community big money.
Oba Oyelakin urged both the indigene and non-indigene of the community to support his vision of turning Iree into a one-stop tourism attraction centre he said “We can build gardens and recreational parks around the hills to explore the full potential of the community.”
“I’m not here as king to simply dominate, acquire wealth, or make names. I’m here to take my dear Iree to enviable heights, heights that our forefathers envisaged making Iree stand out in Yoruba land such that all of us will be cherished and want to be identified with anywhere in the world.”
“The journey to develop Iree has started. In no time many companies are coming to Iree not only in the tourism sector but other sector of the economy that will fast-track growth and development. Jobs will be plenty such that no more will our indigenes search for jobs.”
