Obasa’s Removal is Constitutional – Mamora

The former Speaker Lagos State House of Assembly, Senator Olorunibe Mamora has described the removal of Mudashiru Obasa as valid and constitutional.

Mamora who served as Minister under Muhammadu Buhari administration stated this on Sunday while reacting to removal of Obasa as Lagos Assembly Speaker.

He said the removal process of Speaker only requires endorsement of a two-thirds majority.

According to him, the Speaker is one among the equal. The removal process is straightforward and does not require the substantiation of allegations.

Mamora cited Section 92 of the Constitution to support his claim, emphasizing that the Speaker is just the first among equals.
