Osun Speaker Withdraws Defamation Case After Blackmailers Write Apology Letter

The Speaker Osun State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Adewale Egbedun has withdrawn defamation case against Fawole Oluwasegun and one other at Chief Magistrate Court 1, Osogbo.
Egbedun decided to withdraw the case after the alleged blackmailers write apology letter on Thursday.

The Speaker in a letter addressed to Osun State Police Commissioner writes:
“I am the nominal complaint in the captioned lawsuit, which the State Intelligent Bureau Department in your office recently investigated and charged to the Chief Magistrate Court 1, Osogbo, Osun State on 6th June 2023.
“I respectively wish to withdraw my complaint against the two defendants based on the intervention of well meaning residence of Osun State and my conviction that the duo, who are also youths like myself have demonstrated enough and regret over the attempt to tarnish my personality on social media. I know the lawsuit scheduled to come up for the ruling on the defendants’ bail application tomorrow, June 9 2023 and respectfully request your esteemed office discontinue the lawsuit against the defendants.”
