Oyo Govt Announces New Alaafin of Oyo

Governor Seyi Makinde has officially approved the selection of Prince Abimbola Akeem Owoade as the new Alaafin of Oyo.

This follows extensive consultations and traditional divinations conducted by the Oyomesi, the kingmakers of Oyo.

The Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade made the announcement on Friday.

He said Governor Makinde has endorsed the Oyomesi’s recommendation, resolving a period of uncertainty that followed the passing of the late Alaafin, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, on April 22, 2022.
