Oyo Supports Neglected Tropical Diseases Programs With N42.5M Within Two Years

Board, Dr.Muideen Olatunji, has disclosed that the present administration has spent Forty Two Million, Five Hundred Thousand Naira(N42 ,500,000) within two years on Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) programs .
Dr. Olatunji disclosed this on Monday, while, declaring open a two-day South West States Supply Chain Management, Evaluation Workshop at Kakanfo Inn, Ibadan.
He said further that the government had supported the same project so far in year 2023 with 11 Million Naira to ensure the project achieve it set goals.
Olatunji maintained that the passion of Governor Seyi Makinde led administration to provide the people of the state quality health care necessitated the huge investments in the health sector and support for NTDs programs.
“The State Primary Health Care Board spent 31,500,000 Million Naira last year to support NTD programs and this year alone 11,000,000 Million Naira, has been spent on the same program, totalling, Forty Two Million , Five Hundred Thousand Naira”. He added
“The government is doing this to ensure that NTD commodities are available for those in need at all times ”
He enjoined participants from Oyo, Ogun , Osun, Ekiti and Ondo States to take advantage of the workshop to improve on service delivery in their various states .
The capacity building is expected to birth Action Plan to improve commodity management for NTDs commodities, provides participants in-depth understanding of the various components of the forward and reverse flow of NTDs commodities and data in the NTD Supply Chain amongst others .
