Parents Encouraging Female To Embrace Family Planning – Service Provider

A Service Provider at Primary Health Centre Okelele in Ibagun ward, Ilorin East local government of Kwara State, Hajia Maryam Balogun has stated that parents are encouraging their female children to embrace family planning.

Hajia Maryam Balogun disclosed this on Thursday during the Field Trip of Kwara Family Planning Media Advocacy Group led by Biola Azeez to the Primary Health Centre.

According to her, some parents usually bring their female children in higher institutions to access family planning service in order to avoid unwanted pregnancy.

The Service Provider noted that community acceptance of family planning is growing based on available records.

Balogun said the center has been recording 300 monthly clients adoption in the last six months, noting that people are using different family planning methods.

The FP supervisor attributed the increase in the record to efforts of such organizations as The Challenge Initiative (TCI) and Development Communication Network (Devcoms), among others, in the publicity given to the programme, added that acceptability rate had also increased at the grassroots

Speaking on public awareness about family planning in Kwara State, Social Mobilizer at Primary Health Centre Okelele, Maryam Ajike Isiaka said people are embracing it due to testimonials of previous clients.

Maryam Ajike Isiaka noted that Social Mobilizers are providing accurate and factual information to correct misconceptions about family planning, especially in the rural communities.
