Play With Kwara Youths Holds Third Edition Amidst Funfair
Play With Kwara Youths (PWKY), a sports fiesta aimed at fostering union and peaceful co-existence among young people in Kwara State held third edition on Sunday, December 31, 2023.
Play With Kwara Youths, PWKY 3.0 held at Sports Turt, Unilorin Gate with Speaker Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Salihu Yakubu Danladi leading top politicians to the venue.
PWKY featured Table Tennis, Ludo and football competition to show case their skills and talents in friendly ambience.
The Convener of Play With Kwara Youths, Yusuf Mutiu commended Kwarans for welcoming the idea of PWKY with open minds, noting that the event would continue reflect on peace and unity of Kwara youths.
Yusuf Mutiu said the success of the third edition signifies the harmony and healthy competition among the youths.
The Speaker Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Salihu Yakubu Danladi applauded the organizers for bringing youths from different political affiliation and ethnic group together in this yulitide season.
Danladi promised to continue to support youth constituency and other activities geared towards promoting Kwara State development.
Team godfather emerged first in football competition with seven participating teams while Team CB won Table Tennis Competition through amazing performance of Jawondo.
Speaking with Just Event Online, Team godfather Coach, Rufa’i Ahmed hailed the laudable initiative, hoping that the next edition is more bigger.
Kwara State Commissioner for Youth Development, Nafisah Buge restated that PWKY bring harmony and friendship among the youths of the state regardless of party affiliation and background.
Highlight of the event was the presentation of award and cash prizes to winners in 10 categories.
The cash prize was sponsored by Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial district, Mallam Saliu Mustapha while the Social Democratic Party governorship candidate in 2023 polls, Hakeem Lawal donated trophy and first aid box. Speaker Danladi, Rufa’i Ahmed (godfather) and Kehinde Bankole powered the award plagues.
