Rotaract Club Honors Famous Street Journalist, Chigozie Effe

Rotaract Club has honored famous street journalist, Chigozie Effe for his humanitarian efforts across Nigeria.

The Chartered President of the Rotaract Club of Oyingbo West CB, District 9141, Uzomba Prudence presented the award to renowned humanitarian journalist recently.

The award, according to the club was based on the “recognition of his extraordinary selfless service and support to humanity.”

Speaking with our correspondent, Prudence said the club had been monitoring the humanitarian efforts of the recipient on social media and deemed him fit to receive the award.

“When I got nominated to be the Chartered President of Rotaract Club of Oyingbo West CB, and during one of our award presentation, I thought of so many people who in one way or the other have impacted humanity and Chigozie Effe came across my mind and I reached across to him, sent him a letter and he approved of it.”

Prudence observed that being a humanitarian in Nigeria is tasking and persons like Chigozie Effe should to be encouraged. “It is not easy being a humanitarian in a country like Nigeria, it is not easy serving humanity, it is not easy going about the cause of humanity, it is something I admire when I see people doing it because I am one.

She lamented that youths in Nigeria are not interested in humanitarian efforts but would prefer to show off.

The Rotaract Club Chartered President described the awardee’s efforts as impressive and advised Nigerian youths to join efforts to serving humanity.
