Saliu Mustapha Foundation Holds Youth Summit in Ilorin
The Saliu Mustapha Foundation took a proactive step in celebrating International Youth Day by organizing a Youth Summit focused on promoting green skills and sustainability among young individuals.
The event, held at Queen Elizabeth School Hall, Ilorin, drew an enthusiastic crowd of youths eager to learn and engage in discussions about environmental responsibility and entrepreneurship.
Mallam Yakub Ishowo, representing the Saliu Mustapha Foundation emphasized the importance of green skills in the modern era and how they can contribute to a more sustainable future.
Prof Usman AbdulRaheem from the Department of Geography in University of Ilorin delved into the core theme of the event – “Green Skills for Youth, Towards a Sustainable World.”

Prof AbdulRaheem explained how equipping young people with green skills can pave the way for a greener and healthier planet.
Dr Lawal Olohungbebe, Director of the Center for Community Development at Kwara State University, captivated the audience with his discourse on critical topics such as renewable energy, deforestation, recycling, and their associated dangers.
He shed light on the dire consequences of neglecting environmental issues and shared potential remedies. Dr Olohungbebe also encouraged the youth to prioritize entrepreneurship, leveraging their skills for the greater good while ensuring economic growth.
The Saliu Mustapha Foundation, founded by Mallam Saliu Mustapha, Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, demonstrated its commitment to fostering a brighter future for the region’s youth. Through this Youth Summit, the foundation provided a platform for learning, discussion, and action, inspiring the attendees to take on active roles in building a sustainable and prosperous world.
