SDP Collapses in KWARA As Akogun, Olododo Return To APC

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Kwara State seems to have collapsed as strong stalwarts return to the All Progressives Congress.
Leading the pack of defunct thirdforce in 2023 general elections to KWARA APC are Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo and Hon Ganiyu Cook Olododo.
Oyedepo, a Frontline Otoge gladiator announced his official defection during Inauguration Gala night/Dinner for Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq second term held at Banquet hall, Ilorin on Sunday.
The former State lawmaker in his address described AbdulRazaq’s victory as a testament of serving Kwarans diligently.
“I am proud of Governor AbdulRazaq and his second term victory is a testament that he has truly served Kwarans diligently. I am back home in APC and I appreciate him for his magnanimity. I also want to congratulate him on his emergence as Chairman, Nigeria Governors’ Forum, I have no doubt about his tenacity.” He explained.
On his part, the member representing Ilorin East/Ilorin South Federal Constituency in House of Representatives, Hon Ganiyu Cook Olododo announced his defection during emergency plenary held on Sunday.
The Speaker, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila read letter addressed to the House by Hon Olododo who sought reelection on SDP platform during February 25 election.
He was defeated by APC candidate, Hon Yinka Aluko.
