Senator Ashiru Commences Transformation of Amusement Park in Kwara South
The Deputy Senate Leader and Senator representing Kwara South, Arc. Oyelola Yisa Ashiru, has commenced the transformation of abandoned Idi-Ogun Amusement Park in Offa into a modern youth development centre.
This initiative is facilitated through the Federal Ministry of Sport, marking a significant step toward youth empowerment and revitalization of a cherished community space.
The Principal Personal Assistant to Senator Ashiru, Omuiyadun Hammed Dimeji disclosed this on Wednesday during inspection visit to the site.
He reflected on the nostalgic value of Idi-Ogun Park, which was once a hub of activity during festive periods like Ileya, Christmas, and New Year.
“Growing up in Offa some decades ago, the celebration of festive periods like Ileya, Christmas, and New Year seemed completely incomplete without a visit to Idi-Ogun Park.
“Senator Ashiru is in the process of transforming your favorite long-abandoned Idi-Ogun Amusement Park into a modern youth development centre through the Federal Ministry of Sport.”
The effort is part of Senator Ashiru’s broader vision for sustainable development in Kwara South, focusing on initiatives that foster youth empowerment and community growth.
Through this transformation, the park will evolve from a place of nostalgia to a centre of opportunity, paving the way for future generations to thrive.
