Senator Ashiru Commences Upscaling of School in Oyun LG

 

The construction of a Block of Two classrooms has commenced in Igbonna town, Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State.

During the holiday, the attention of the Senator representing Kwara South Senatorial District, Senator Oyelola Ashiru was drawn to the precarious condition of many schools in Oyun Local Government.

In the course of an on-the-spot assessment, the Senator declared an emergency on academic infrastructure across Kwara South when he saw dilapidated buildings, non functional laboratory and lack of mathematics and science teachers in most of our schools.

While a massive education project was planned across all local government area in Kwara South, the inconducive learning environment in Igbonna community where tables and chairs are not available prompted the Senator to finance the construction of two classroom from his personal purse.

It is on record that Igbonna Government Day Secondary school is the only school in Igbonna ward which is attended by about 1,000 students from more than 16 villages. These villages includes Eleku, Agara, Keraja, Eleshinfunfun, Olomitoro amongst others.

During the tour, Senator Ashiru also visited Sulraj Secondary School Erin-Ile, Ira Grammar School, all in Oyun Local Government.
