Senator Ashiru Empowers Widows In Offa LG

Barely five days after the training and empowerment of 130 women and youths of Oyun Local Government on agroforestry, Senator Ashiru again, empowered some widows in Offa Local Government.

The senator in his words, marked out the reason for chosen the widows, “these women are vulnerable and are at the base of the society, they need to be empowered with resources to alleviate them from destitution and also from solitary through petty trading”

He further stated that, base on the report from the monitoring team, in the next two months, the successful ones will be supported with more resources to improve in their businesses.

The APC Offa Local Government Chairman, Alhaji Kehinde Kennedy, in his response, describes the program as a fantastic and a timely one, “we appreciate this fantastic program and also we are delighted for it is timely, this will go a long way to quench the widows thirst”, he says.

The beneficiaries who have been screened with their business proposal about a month were filled with cheers and expressed their gratitude to the senator, they were as well enthusiastic to start their businesses.

The program was attended by APC Offa Local Government executives, the wards executives amongst other party stalwarts from Oyun and Offa Local Government.
