The Caretaker Committee Chairperson of the Labour Party, Senator Nenadi Usman, has called on the Julius Abure-led National Working Committee (NWC) to join efforts in rebuilding the party following the Supreme Court’s decision on the party’s leadership crisis.

Senator Usman made this call on Wednesday during the Party’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting held in Abuja.

She said the judgment would enable the party to begin its journey of renewal, with a focus on truth, integrity, and responsible leadership.

“I’m happy to communicate that the consequence of the decision of the Supreme Court of Nigeria is that the Labour Party can now start on its journey for a rebirth,” Usman stated.

“It is a triumph for the rule of law, good governance, and for all who stand for truth and sincerity of purpose.”

Usman also urged party members, including those who may be aggrieved by the court’s ruling, to set aside their differences and unite for the party’s success.

The meeting was attended by Governor Alex Otti of Abia State, LP Presidential Candidate in 2023 polls, Peter Obi and National Assembly members from the party.

FactualTimes reports that NEC members led by Governor Otti later presented certified true copy of the Supreme Court judgement to the Independent National Electoral Commission.
