…Bags leadership award of excellence

Chairman Salman Shagaya Foundation Alhaji Sheriff Shagaya was honoured yesterday with yet another award by the Symbol Magazine in recognition of his philanthropic gestures, community development and poverty alleviation efforts in the society.

Shagaya who was represented by the foundation’s Press Secretary, Ibraheem Abdullateef received the laurel for Leadership Award 2019 at the Symbol Magazine 10th year anniversary dinner and award night at Kwara Hotels, Ilorin alongside other dignitaries.

This follows barely four days after he was honoured as Philanthropist Of The Year at the Kwara Live Project in Ilorin. The philanthropist described the flurry of laurels in recognition of his selflessness as a welcome development.

“It is gratifying to see us getting deserved recognition from the public now. That is a testament to the impact we have in our community. It has been five years of selflessness, love and purposeful interfacing with the people, as tireless relief givers and friends of the masses. That for us, is the ultimate path of honour we are committed, “ said Sheriff in a press statement issued by Ibraheem Abdullateef, the foundation’s Press Secretary.

Shagaya dedicated the award to staff and management of his foundation and entire Kwarans for their support and cooperation over the years. The soft-spoken business magnate noted their readiness to do more humanitarian services next year.

“We are not done pursuing change in fortunes for our people. The foundation shall review her activities for the new year and come out even stronger and better. We have realised how much the people need help and we shall not rest on our oars, in contributing to social and economic development of Kwara and Nigeria at large,” Sheriff assured.

He thanked the people for the acceptance given to the foundation 4,000 homes solar project and the quarterly relief money scheme, while encouraging them to stay unwavering with them in the coming years.
